What is Crosslinking Treatment?
Crosslinking is the only treatment method for keratoconus that is applied by sending light without touching the eye. There is no incision or injection in this treatment method. In keratoconus patients, UV-A light is sent for about half an hour after riboflavin is dripped onto the weakened and forward-protruding cornea layer. This treatment strengthens the cross-links in the corneal layer. In keratoconus patients who apply due to an increase in their glasses prescription, the goal after crosslinking is to stop the increase.
Can Crosslinking Treatment be Applied Together with Corneal Ring Implantation or Corneal Transplantation?
Yes, it can be applied. Crosslinking treatment can be applied before or after corneal ring implantation or after corneal transplantation.
How Much Does Crosslinking Treatment Cost?
Crosslinking treatment costs vary depending on the underlying cause, the operation to be performed, and the specific examination and detailed measurements of your eye. The treatment plan determined by our specialist eye doctor after a detailed examination may vary from person to person.
