Neurovision
Non-invasive vision enhancement therapy, neurovision therapy, aims to increase visual ability by accelerating visual stimuli and neural connections related to vision. This technology has been clinically proven in the treatment of adult amblyopia, previously considered untreatable.
Whether a patient is suitable for neurovision is determined by a detailed examination. Patients aged between 10 and 55, with a vision level of 15% to 20%, a deviation level below 8 prisms, and no other pathology obstructing vision in the eye are considered suitable for treatment. Generally, if no problems are found in the examination, the treatment is performed as needed.
How is Neurovision Therapy Applied?
After diagnosing that the patient is suitable, the first neurovision session is conducted by the doctor in the hospital. The treatment consists of approximately 40 sessions, each lasting about 30 to 40 minutes.
After the initial session started by the eye doctor in the hospital, the patient can carry out the rest of the treatment at home or in a suitable work environment through a provided computer program. After starting neurovision therapy, the patient's vision level is determined by the program after 1-2 sessions and recorded on the computer, creating a personalized study plan for the patient after each session. The patient starts to implement these plans.
During monthly check-ups, the visual acuity and contrast sensitivity information entered into the system by the doctor allow the monitoring of the patient's individual treatment progress.
Neurovision Treatment Process
For neurovision therapy to be successful, sessions should be applied regularly for 40 minutes, three times a week with a one-day break in between.
To evaluate the patient's treatment progress, doctor check-ups are required after the 5th, 10th, 20th, and 40th sessions. Regular sessions and doctor check-ups can ensure that results are achieved from the treatment, with results generally seen within 3-4 months.
Neurovision is a non-surgical and drug-free treatment method. It has no side effects for the patient and poses no risk. It is an FDA-approved treatment method, and most of the application can be performed at home.
Neurovision Therapy
Neurovision therapy is the result of research aimed at optimizing the neural performance of the visual system.
This technology is the product of approximately 20 years of scientific and clinical research. These studies focused on understanding how the brain processes visual information, how neural activity is related to visual perception, and how visual processes interact with other nervous systems.
Developed as a computer-based interactive therapy, neurovision is offered to patients at home or in clinical settings using a personal computer connected to the internet.
Computerized Vision Therapy at Home
Computerized vision therapy at home, also known as AmbP iNet application, is utilized in children aged four to nine with amblyopia as a complementary method to occlusion therapy.
Recent research supported by the National Institutes of Health/National Eye Institute of the United States has shown that the correct treatment method can be occlusion and/or eye drops. These new studies recommend occlusion during visual activities.
This encourages hand-eye coordination in children with amblyopia, improving visual acuity. Computerized vision therapy at home is designed to help force the amblyopic eye to see well and improve hand-eye coordination. Its various activities increase interest, thereby enhancing vision improvement.
This program starts at the level determined by the eye doctor, and the reactions shown are automatically evaluated by the program for vision improvement. As vision improves, the program automatically progresses to more challenging levels.
How Much Does Neurovision Therapy Cost?
The cost of neurovision therapy varies depending on the underlying cause and the type of operation to be performed. The treatment plan determined by our specialist eye doctor after a detailed examination can differ from person to person.
